The Grand Old Lady's 100th Year

It was exactly a century ago, on 10th August 1910, that Shell ( then known as the Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Company Limited ) discovered Malaysia's first oil well - Miri Well No.1. This modest but significant start led to the eventual growth of Malaysia's petroleum industry and gave "the Grand Old Lady ", as the well is affectionately known, a special place in our nation history.
